For most repeat takers, the gap is not the law

You studied, you passed law school exams, and you probably came close. For most repeat takers the gap is not knowledge. It is what got onto the page: the essays were too short, the rules were approximate instead of exact, or time ran out. Rereading the outlines does not reach that, because the essays are graded on what you write, not on what you recognize on a page.
